A global design and architecture practice is looking for an experienced Workplace Project Director to join their London team. The successful candidate will have an exceptional track record of delivering commercial interior design projects from client presentations through to installation while simultaneously managing a design team.

This multidisciplinary practice is known around the world thanks to their innovative portfolio of projects. From interior design through to branding and architecture schemes, they strive to break boundaries and create spaces that unlock human potential. With an increasing pipeline of projects, they are now looking for a proactive individual with outstanding business development skills and experience to join them on a permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Managing/overseeing projects from pitch through to completion
  • Liaising and communicating with contractors, design teams and third-parties
  • Developing and maintaining strong external and internal relationships
  • Assisting/collaborating with business development including:
  • Calculation of projected professional fees & resource planning
  • Drafting of preliminary design programme
  • Preparation of project scope of work description
  • Preliminary draft contract review
  • Preparation of and participation in interviews/pitches for new potential opportunities
  • Leading teams through all phases of the design and management process
  • Creating and distributing all project records including execution plans, budgets, time frames, programmes and monthly overview reports
  • Managing financial aspects of the project to include the overall performance in relation to the agreed fee, weekly monitoring of labour charge & staff resourcing and monthly invoicing
  • Client presentations and monitoring
  • Coordinating and liaising with architects and specialist consultants worldwide
  • Managing multiple global accounts and team collaboration across various locations

Required Skills & Experience

  • A degree in Interior Design/Architecture
  • Demonstrable corporate/workplace interior design experience. International experience advantageous
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects at varying stages of design/implementation
  • Outstanding client facing and presentation skills
  • Excellent graphic and visualisation skills to communicate processes in the delivery of projects
  • A good understanding of FF&E documentation/procurement would be advantageous
  • AutoCAD and Revit is appreciated but not essential
  • Fluency in a European language would be advantageous
