Job Details

Are you an Urban Designer or a Part 2 Architectural Assistant with an interest in master-planning and sustainable developments? Ideally you will have an interest in traditional urbanism, volume house building, design, pattern books and codes. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic developer and work on the design of 2-3 large towns in the South of England.

My client is a practice of 32 who specialise in creating places that celebrate local identity, mixed uses, sustainable communities and walkable neighbourhoods.
They believe the quality of the built environment exerts a critical effect on our quality of life. They are therefore passionate about improving the beauty and desirability of the built environment for the benefit of those who live and work there. They build places where communities flourish, placing local knowledge and community engagement at the heart of our work.

Role & Responsibilities

- Master-planning drawing packages
- Graphic design responsibilities and publishing duties in collaboration with the marketing department
- Volume building design
- The production of master-planning vision documents, design codes and pattern books
- Participation in public charettes and community consultation events
- Co-ordination of consultant's work.

Required Skills & Experience

- A degree in Urban Design or qualified to RIBA Part II level
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of visual language
- The ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
- Experience/proficient in Vector works 3D, SketchUp and Adobe Suite
- Interest in traditional urban design and architecture
- Knowledge of the principles and systems of volume house design

What you get back

- £24,000-£28,000 (Initial 6-month contract with the potential to become permanent)
