Our team of highly experienced professionals work tirelessly over the design of our schemes; their vision is realised by a construction team of skilled tradesman with decades of experience.

We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, design-led architectural assistant with excellent communication skills to work as part of our multi-disciplinary development company. The role will involve working within the Land Team alongside Design, Acquisition and Planning team leaders. You will be working on primarily residential schemes, but also commercial mixed-use developments as well. Our projects currently range from 50 residential units to 300,000 sq ft commercial use masterplan schemes. We require a strong candidate who is well-versed in the Pre-Construction phases of the projects and accustomed to preparing planning applications, feasibility studies; whilst also possess a good knowledge of the overall construction process. You will be reporting directly to the Creative Director but also assisting the other senior team members within the Land team as and when required.

EXPECTED TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with projects as required.
  • Assist with the production of feasibility reports, design proposals, area & unit calculations, presentations & drafting reports.
  • Assist in producing our in-house development brochures and office branding where required.
  • Strong design and graphic skills including free hand sketching.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting Planning Applications and Pre-Applications (Developing Design & Access statements, Preliminary Design brochures etc.)
  • An ability to pursue ideas and develop concept schemes working with the Project Architect.
  • Resourcefulness and willingness to research and develop new ideas and solutions.
  • Prepare, develop and edit (under the guidance of the project leader or nominated Architect) drawings, models, images and other project documents.
  • Where appropriate participate in presentations, site visits, client meetings, sub-contractor meetings and other meetings.
  • Keep the Director informed of all circumstances that could affect the projects or Clients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of construction methods and materials and the economics involved.
  • Develop, where required, representations of design options for further discussion and development by the design team.
  • Perform assignments with guidance from others as needed.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments and attend technical and professional body CPDs and seminars.
  • Adhere to the RIBA Code of Professional Conduct & record evidence of your professional experience in accordance with the requirements of the RIBA (or equivalent).

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Essential: RIBA Part I qualification as a minimum. e.g. BA (Hons) Architecture or equivalent.
  • Residential use essential (Space planning and massing development)

SOFTWARE

Essential: Adobe Creative Suite, Experience using AutoCAD and SketchUp,
