Position

With a very friendly and multi-national environment we are looking for new people to join our Design Department as Design Coordinator. Working mainly with High-end stone & marble projects, we are looking for a responsible professional that is not afraid of challenges and likes the adrenaline of having to think outside the box. Knowing the stone industry is a plus, however, is not required, we are happy to introduce our world to you. Related industry background such as interior design / architecture, fit-out, joinery is very much welcome. All levels of seniority will be considered. This is a London-based position and interviews will be carried out in person at our office in central London.

The role consists of managing the full design scope of projects, some of the responsibilities and primarily objectives are listed below:

  • Developing programmes and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Controlling budget and managing targets
  • Ensuring high quality drawings are delivered as per Client’s and the Company’s expectations
  • Going through all design approval process (IFA /IFC + Cutting Lists / AB)
  • Organizing/submitting RFIs
  • Recording and tracking changes
  • Site visits and Surveys
  • Client meetings / Design Workshops
  • Coordinating drawings with other subcontractors
  • Produce Cutting list and details for manufacture as per factory requirements

 

 

Specific responsibilities of the job

  • Addressing and dealing with pressure
  • Managing the client expectations with respect to contractual and technical issues
  • Review design resources and managing design changes
  • Oversee and be responsible for work produced by Freelance Drafters
  • Programme coordination between design and main contractor
  • Close liaison with client to ensure design development issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Produce 2D design drawings at all stages on AutoCAD or other software’s as required by the client, careful coordination, and use of gridlines
  • Develop in-detail-drawings of stone (and joinery) surfaces
  • Site surveys, with laser axis
  • Stone cutting lists
  • Close liaison with stone factories during production phase
  • Receiving and filing of drawings including downloading data from the internet when necessary (Aconex, 4P, Viewpoint and others)
  • Ensuring correct architectural layouts are utilised

 

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Degree level qualification in graphic or interior design / architecture
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of BIM and 3D design software is a plus
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Organisational skills, team spirit and attention to details
